Let's get some Straightening!

My hair straightened better than I expected. I used a bunch of heat protectants so hopefully I don't get any heat damage. This style only lasted 2 days and it was POOFY again! That's fine because I only flat ironed it to get a good trim and document my length at the ONE year natural mark!

Yeah, humidity got to it and it rained pretty much all day today! Nevertheless, Christmas was amazing!!!

Shared love of Christ and spent so much time with my family! I'm content :)

I love MY Natural!!!

I saw this quote from a natural sista and it sparked me to do a post on why I love my natural hair.
 1. I love my natural hair because it gives me such confidence and I love being the only one in the room who "truly" looks different.


2. I love getting long stares from guys and girls, even though the fro seems to intimidate some guys, that just helps me keep away the ones who can't handle me.


3. I love the various textures in my hair. Some sections are loose some are extremely coily, but in my eyes that adds to the beauty of it all.


4. I love the versatility of course!


5. I love the hold that my natural hair gives me. My twistouts and different styles lasts for a least a week!


6. I love how my natural journey has aided me in so many areas of my life: health and fitness, career goals, creativity, my relationship with Christ, and even relationships with people. 




7. I love the HEALTH of my hair. That's all I've ever wanted HEALTHY hair, no matter the length!

This video was very funny and informative at the same time. I appreciate men like this because it just goes to show that someone understands the importance of women choosing to embrace their natural. I mean really this video exceeded my expectations. Seems like he knew more about natural hair than I do haha! Love it!

Totally Thrifted...

These pics were taken last night while I was going out with the ladies! I love this outfit, not only was it comfortable but it's CUTE and CHEAP! This outfit was totally thrifted and I only spent approximately $35 dollars on it and that's just because of the shoes! These nude heels are Steve Madden and they were lightly used from Plato's Closet for only $25 bucks, the blazer and pants were purchased at a local thrift for only like $6 for both pieces! I love shopping on a budget!!!

First days of Fall...

I've been wearing my hair out or in puffs for the last few weeks...Twistouts, wash n gos, and braidouts have been my best friend. I need to get better with updos and protective styles because I am burning to try something new!
